SURFCAM Velocity 3 SP1 Release Notes

SURFCAM Velocity 3 SP1 b270 will ship to all Users with a Maintenance Contract Expiration Date of 2/28/2007 or greater.

You can check your Maintenance Expiration Date by opening SURFCAM and clicking  Help | About SURFCAM.

• 4- and 5-Axis Machining Enhancements
  A new cutting method has been implemented that generates a tool path that morphs between two surfaces. The user interface to set the rotary axis for 4-axis machining has been updated. And, 4-axis machining has been enhanced by allowing rapid repositioning to a cylinder instead of a plane.
• Graphics Enhancements
  You can now specify the display ratio and overwrite the automatically calculated display ratio. Also, system performance when rendering complex parts has been significantly improved.
• Toolpath Containment Enhancements
  Dynamic “smart-tags” are now displayed next to the boundaries. The smart tag icon corresponds to the assigned boundary type.
• SolidWorks Associativity Enhancements
  A new SolidWorks add-in has been implemented that tracks not only the changes of a machined feature’s shape, but also tracks changes to the feature’s depth.
• AutoCad® 2008 Support
  The AutoCAD translator for opening DWG and DXF files has been updated to support AutoCAD 2007 and AutoCAD 2008 native files.
